Trautonium

The trautonium is an electronic synthesizer invented in 1930 by Friedrich Trautwein. Instead of a keyboard, its manual is made of a resistor wire over a metal plate, which is pressed to create a sound. Paul Hindemith was probably the first to compose for this instrument, and his student Harald Genzmer composed two trautonium concertos. I opted for the first one, played by Oskar Sala with the Bremer Philharmonisches Staatsorchester under Siegfried Goslich on Wergo.
