Organ

The term "Organ" in classical music is usually reserved for pipe organs, found in churches and large concert halls. Although the instrument is widely used in classical music, concertos are somewhat rare, both for logistic reasons (they can not be moved) and sounds balance reasons. Still, many famous names have composed organ concertos, from Vivaldi, via C.P.E. Bach to the likes of Rheinberger, Hanson, H. Andriessen, Leifs, Arnold, Keuris and Eben. It should be noted that two of the most famous works for organ and orchestra are actually named symphony (Saint-Saëns) or Symphonie Concertante (Jongen). My pick for an actual organ concerto is probably the most famous one, by Francis Poulenc (1938). It is played by Franz Hauk with the Georgian Chamber Orchestra under Markus Poschner on Guild.
