Knifonium

The Knifonium is an exceptionally beautiful-sounding monophonic synthesizer that is driven by a whopping 26 vacuum tubes. This upscale synth features two tube-driven oscillators, a 4th order ladder filter, a ring modulator, and a gorgeous “steampunk” aesthetic. Not suprisingly, this beast has so far featured in only one classical composition as far as I know, but that is a beautiful concerto by Finnish composer Olli Virtaperko from 2016. Titled "Ambrosian Delights", it is played by Jonte Knif with the Jyväskylä Sinfonia under Ville Matvejeff on Ondine.
