The Hammond organ is an electric organ invented by Laurens Hammond and John M. Hanert, first manufactured in 1935. It found wide-spread use in rock as well as the entertainment industry, and many of them found their way into homes. Its use in classical music has been limited, but Danish composer Anders Koppel composed a concerto for it, which can be viewed here. It is played by the composer with the Aarhus Symfoniorkester under Mateusz Moleda. Unlike many other concertos by this composer, it has not reached the CD medium yet. A matter of time probably.
