Yes, a concerto for coloratura soprano and orchestra - by Russian composer Reinhold Glière. Wordless singing is not unknown in classical music (Rachmaninoff's Vocalise and Vaughan Williams's Pastoral Symphony are well-known examples), but this 1942 concerto is a rarity (I'm only aware of one composed later, by Tailleferre). It is sung by Joan Sutherland and the London Symphony Orchestra under Richard Bonynge on Decca.
